Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

ColdBrief is in an early-access phase (Founding Member Program). Access is invite-only and some features may change as the product matures.

1. Who operates this service

ColdBrief (coldbrief.com and the ColdBrief Slack application, together the “Service”) is operated by Karol Dec, an individual based in Rzeszów, Poland (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, installing the Slack app, joining the waitlist, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Polish courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

2. The Service

ColdBrief is an AI-powered B2B sales research tool that lives in Slack. It compiles research briefs about companies from publicly available sources (company websites, public LinkedIn pages, news, web search) and generates a suggested sales approach based on the sales methodology you provide. The web application serves as a companion for managing methodologies, brief history, and account settings.

The Service is intended for business use by sales professionals. You are responsible for using the research output in compliance with the laws that apply to your outreach (including anti-spam and data protection laws in your market).

3. Accounts and access

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and your Slack workspace installation.
  • Access during the Founding Member Program is invite-only. We may approve or decline applications at our discretion.
  • You may delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account, or by email) — this removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Founding Member Program and pricing

  • Founding members receive 30 days of full access free of charge, followed by the founding rate of $25/month with a monthly brief allowance (currently 50 briefs/month).
  • No payment is collected automatically during the early-access phase. Before any billing starts, you will be notified in advance and asked to confirm — you can walk away with no obligation.
  • The founding rate is locked for founding members for as long as their subscription remains active.
  • Brief allowances reset monthly. Unused briefs do not roll over.
  • We may adjust free-tier limits, allowances, and features during early access; founding-rate pricing for existing members will not increase.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate any third-party rights.
  • Use research output to harass, stalk, or profile private individuals — the Service is for B2B sales research only.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, credit enforcement, or access controls (including automated or scripted requests).
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own offering.
  • Reverse engineer the Service or use it to build a competing product.
  • Upload content you have no right to share (e.g. confidential materials of a third party).
  • Abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service infrastructure.

Use of the Slack app is additionally subject to Slack’s own terms of service.

6. Your content and intellectual property

  • You retain full ownership of the sales methodologies and other content you provide. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate the Service for you.
  • Research briefs generated for your account are yours to use in your sales work.
  • The Service itself — software, design, prompts, and branding — remains our property.
  • We never share your methodologies or briefs with other customers.

7. AI-generated content

Briefs are generated by AI from publicly available information. They may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or omissions. Briefs are a research starting point, not verified facts or professional advice. You are responsible for verifying information before relying on it in outreach, negotiations, or business decisions.

8. Third-party services and availability

The Service depends on third-party platforms and data providers (Slack, AI providers, public data sources). We do not control these services and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service or of any particular data source. During early access, features may change, be paused, or be removed as the product evolves.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms, abuses the infrastructure, or creates legal risk — where practical, we will warn you first. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability) survive it.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or 100 PLN if you have paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or lost business opportunities. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue using the Service after that date, the updated Terms apply; if you disagree, you may delete your account before they take effect.
